Isn't it December?

It is a balmy 60 degrees here in New Haven. Unfortunately I will not be able to take advantage as I will be stuck in the library all day. I'm wearing one of my favorite vintage pieces today, a black cashmere cardigan with a snap off fur collar. It came with two different cardigans, one cream and one black. Both have a beautiful crystal clasp. I'm not doing a very good job of explaining, hopefully the pictures will help.

Despite the warm weather I am pretty bundled up today. I hate being cold, especially when I'm trying to get work done.

Wearing: Odille for anthropologie black dress/ vintage belt/ Stella McCartney for Gap Kids tights/ Marais shoes/ Berenice jacket/ Vintage sweater (Fashionista, New Haven)

Ignore the goofy look on my face in the last picture. My photographer refused to take another, he thought it was "cute." Oh well.

I also wanted to get a good details shot of the my shoes. The blue piping makes me happy.

Black Friday Loot

I did not wake up early. I did not stand in line. And yet, I still found some great things on Black Friday. We went to one of my favorite stores in Chicago, Aritzia. They carry the line Wilfred, which I have not been able to find anywhere else. I love their super soft basics, which manage to be basic without boring.

After taking these pictures I realized that I bought a whole lot of black, and a whole lot of lace. The lace is not that surprising, the black somewhat. I usually choose grey or white as my neutral. Perhaps I am entering a goth phase.

Anyways, on to the goodies.

1. Wilfred lace tank top. This is long enough to wear as a dress, but I'm also planning on wearing it under just about everything this winter.

2. Ines black ballerina dress. I love anything that reminds me of my ill-fated dance career. I still wear my leotards under high-waisted skirts.

3. Forever 21 cropped lace shirt. This has built in shoulder pads. Which is kind of weird. I might cut them out. As of now, I am planning on wearing with ankle grazing jeans and my floral doc martens. Or a black skirt and my over the knee boots.

4. Forever 21 romper. This was in the pajama section. It's label says Cereal. I have no idea what that means. But it's comfy and soft and I won't get tangled in it when I sleep.

Catbird online!

The best jewelry store, catbird, has gone e-commerce, YAY!

My wishlist is long, but at the top is definitely the catbird alphabet ring ($88)

I am also mildly obsessed with the Flotsam and Jetsam Spanish Galleon Ring ($160). There is a reason I'm studying the Renaissance people. Also, check out their pygmy seahorse ring.

I don't wear a lot of jewelry, though I love looking at it. The best part about catbird is how offbeat their pieces are, while still remaining pretty and feminine. OK maybe not the galleon ring but it's still cool.

Rainy Day Outfit

Wearing: jcrew sweater/ shirt from boutique in amsterdam/ topshop skirt/ assets tights/ chanel shoes

These are my new obsession, Stuart Weitzman 50/50 boots. I found them in a consignment store in Sag Harbor, NY. I have been searching (along with the rest of the world it seems) for over the knee boots. I saw these in the window, went in to try them on and they fit perfectly. Fate. Also they were wayyyy marked down. Double win.

New Camera!

I went camera shopping with my Dad this weekend and came away with the Samsung TL34 HD. I've been playing around with it all day and have started to upload pictures! Hopefully I'll have an outfit of the day by tomorrow...

I hope everyone's Thanksgivings were restful and delicious, mine certainly was. But now it's back to the grind of school for the final three weeks of the semester. I will try and post more, but no promises.

I am well aware that many people are over the trend of a giant something sitting atop your head. I however am not. And I am especially obsessed with ban.do which are gorgeous headbands created with vintage materials. I stare at their website about once a day. But I had never thought to look IN THE SALE SECTION! Leonid Meteor Shower

I have been having a not so great day. I slept through my morning classes. I have a ton of homework. I hate when I'm this whiny. But it's all better because my darling bf just reminded me (via an email) that tonight is the meteor shower and would I like to drive somewhere and watch it with him. Yes, yes I would. If you'd like to learn more about said meteor shower head on over to NASA's website (http://science.nasa.gov/headlines/y2009/10nov_leonids2009.htm) Also, not to totally geek out but have you ever read NASA's twitter? I don't use twitter, but if I did this would be the first thing I would follow! (http://twitter.com/nasa)
